Breaking Barriers Workshops

At Genesys Way Inc., we offer "Breaking Barriers" workshops designed to provide participants with essential employment and educational resources. These workshops empower and equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Giving Tuesdays
Every Tuesday, we host "Giving Tuesdays," during which we distribute free unlimited clothing and shoes and diaper and wipe donations. This initiative ensures that our community members have access to necessities, fostering a sense of dignity and support.

Winning Wednesday Workshops
On Wednesdays, we organize "Winning Wednesday Workshops," where we collaborate with various organizations to present valuable resources. Topics may include home ownership, financial literacy, and credit management, allowing participants to gain insights into essential life skills.

Thriving Thursdays
Every third Thursday of the calendar year, we celebrate "Thriving Thursdays," a designated self-care day. Participants can engage in various activities such as yoga, painting sessions, gardening, and nature walks. Additionally, we share uplifting self-care quotes and affirmations on our social media platforms every Thursday throughout the month, promoting mental wellness and positivity.

Fun Fridays
Twice a year, we hold "Fun Fridays," where participants and staff come together for enjoyable outings. These events may include field trips, bowling, movie outings, or dining experiences, fostering community and camaraderie among participants.

Our Supportive Housing Program

Genesys Way Inc. provides comprehensive supportive housing services that are both service-intensive and shared. Our supportive housing program is time-limited, typically lasting up to 24 months; however, in some instances, this timeframe may be extended based on individual circumstances. We prioritize providing stable housing and believe in "beds, not sidewalks." We aim to ensure that participants are well-prepared for a successful transition into permanent housing.

Our supportive housing program offers a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can address past trauma, confront the issues that contributed to their homelessness, and rebuild their support networks. We accept outsourced services for consumers with disabilities, including mental health support, psychological evaluations, behavioral services, substance abuse counseling, and community economic development programs.

Genesys Way partners with direct service providers, other advocacy groups, and community members to identify issues needing attention. While continuously working with these representatives, we develop recommendations for local and national funding, policy, and law.
